Talk to your Storage Management group, they might be able to restore. |

If it's on tape, and the tape has not been written to since deletion, then yes, get the tape people to recatalog it and you should be OK. |

Hello,
If it was on dasd when a volume backup was created (and the backup still exists), your storage people may be able to retrieve it for you. |

Hi,
For recovering a member of a PDS ?.
You can recover a deleted member from a PDS if it was NOT COMPRESSED or if it was NOT a PDSE. Below are the steps to be followed:-
It is done using Ezyedit.
1) Type EZY on the command prompt. In the initial screen type RECOVER in the function field and the PDS number in the DSN/Variable # field.
2) Press ENTER and you will see a report. When Ezyedit recovers the members it will name them as ZZZ00001, ZZZ00002 and so on. You need to find out the exact member you are looking for and rename them accordingly.
For recovering the entire PDS ?
1) Type 'TSO HLIST DS('dataset name') BCDS'
2) Press Enter, you will get the information of the backups taken by HSM.
3) You can recover the datasets using the following command:-
TSO HRECOVER 'dataset name' gen(gen-number) newname(NEW-DATASET-NAME)
Where dataset name is the dataset you want to recover, gen-number can be 000, 001 and 002 depending on the backups you want to recover (000 being the latest) and NEW-DATASET-NAME is the name of dataset you want to create.
Note: Even for recovering the PDS member there has to be a backup taken for the specified dataset by HSM which can be checked by TSO command mentioned previously.
Hope this helps,
