hi,

what is the maximum limit for gdg 255 or 256?
what will happen if i create the 256th generations.

if it abends what abend will show?

Hello,

The maximum limit for GDG is 255.

And coming to the second question, its better try ur self to ceate 256 and tell the error u r facing.then u wil remember that error for a long time.

The result depends on how the original GDG base was specified, i.e. what parameters were specified for SCRATCH/NOSCRATCH and EMPTY/NOEMPTY.
