Hello,

Where did you hear of an "Index Storage File". It is not an IMS term i'm familiar with.

If you explain where you heard of this and in which context, someone may have an answer.

Hello,

There is a requrement in which will be adding some fields in the segment of some IMS-DB's. For doing this I will have to change the Index Storage file.I dont know what is this index storage file.

Rajat

Hello,

Before starting on a plan to change anything, you need to make sure you get to the correct terminology. Who told you that you have to change this?

As i mentioned before, The IMS documentation does not mention this term (neither "index storage file" nor "index storage").

rajatbagga - in addition to what Dick said, you need further clarification on your problem. You aren't changing the key fields, are you? Perhaps you will need to take a look at the space requirements and the current allocation. HIDAM databases have a separate index - HDAM do not.

OK,

Let me check with the vendor what exctly he means by index storage file.

CC:Sandy: No, I am not changing any key fileds. Thanks for the suggestion I will take space and allocation into consideration.

Rajat
