Hi all,

I am just curious to know how to do this with ISPF command.

At present i am opening a PS dataset in view mode and i want to try out this.

I/P file contains 3 records.

Column 1-5 - Key value
Column 6-26- Name value
Column 27-72 - Space

O/P file contains 3 records.

Column 1-5 - Key value

Now i want to shift the value from Col 6-26 in i/p file by 3 spaces so that,

Column 9-29 - Name value
Column 30-72 - Space

Let me know if this can be done through TSO/ISPF.

the shifting yes. look at bounds (both primary command and line command) and shift-data (line command).

PF1

when you say o/p file, you are talking greek.

I agree with Dick.

This is a technical forum. The questions and answers should be described well and in proper English.

1. the poster wanted to use VIEW mode. You do not normally describe it as an input file and a different output file. It is a single file that has changed.

2. actually, VIEW mode does not save the changes anyway, thus no output file.
