HI,
I WANT TO KNOW THAT WHY LDS IS USED IN DB2 FOR TABLE SPACE WHY CAN'T OTHER VSAM DATASETS.

WHAT IS THE ADVANTAGE OF LDS COMPARE TO OTHER VSAM DATASETS IN THIS CASE

2) WHAT IS THE USE OF COLLECTION-ID & LOCATION-ID IN BIND PACKAGE.PLEASE EXPLAIN IN DETAIL

3) WHAT IS THE ADVANTAGE OF DOING DB2 PRECOMPILATION FIRST BEFORE CICS TRANSLATION IN CICS-DB2 PROGRAM

Linear data sets are more efficient because they do not contain the VSAM control interval information that an ESDS does. Additionally, an LDS has control intervals with a fixed length of 4,096 bytes.

Hi,

I think collectionID is the name given to group of packages.

if you want to refer one package seperately u have to refer with collectionID along with the package name.

If I miss some thing please let me know.
