Can anybody please explain me about subscript & index with practical examples, how they differ from each other, which one is advantage

obviously, index.........is best
for convenience some time we go for subscript also

index tells the exact displacement from the starting of the array/table
subscript refers to the occurance number so if subscript is refered then it will convert the occarance no. to displacement using the picture clause of each element of the array/table

understand using any ref. manuals also
