there is no mojor difference between vscobol II used by IBM mainframe machines with other cobol versions.

VS Cobol II Cobol MF Cobol Others

31 bit addressing 24 bit addressing 24-bit 24-bit

upto 2GB of vsam space 64kb - -

Syntax is similiar to cobol same free flow of same
writing, no pos as cobol

more support for db2 and little bit little bit little bit
online applications
