Hello sankar and welcome to the forums,
At the briefest, IPL is when the operating system is loaded.
This is similar to when you power up a pc - just a different operating system. |

Initial Program Load -- load the operating system and optional subsystems and start the system. (same thing as booting a PC, just more complicated). |
