Hi,
I am new to Storage Management and i have a doubt here.
On my system i have rules defined in such a way that if a dataset is not touched for X days it gets deleted.
Now, i would like to run a job which can generate me a list of datasets which would be deleted in this fashion so that i can forecast it to the corresponding users who can get a chance of verifying it.
Can anyone tell me how this can be done. |

Hi,
how can you predict when a dataset is going to be opened ?
Forecasting what's going to be deleted is only going to be a guesstimate.
If they are the rules why not just enforce them ?
As soon as you provide a list, files will be opened so they are not deleted.
What happens to people on leave ?

I'm with Gerry, rules are there to delete unused datasets.
If it was important to the user it would have been used and retained. |
