can anybody explain about the following:
What is a Mirrored DASD and is there any specific procedure for restoring datasets from them?

Hi,

Mirrored DASD is the backup of DASD. Normally this backup will be used for Disaster recovery. For more details please check attached link.

Mainstar is one of the vendor who provides Mirroring solutions.
