About the JES2 nodename

Could somebody tell me how to get the JES2 nodename in mainframe?

Hello,

You should be able to find it in the sysout from a submitted job. Look to the right side of the "STARTED" message.

$HASP373 MSRDSCBX STARTED - INIT DL - CLASS D - SYS 309A

You may also find it on the ispf main menu (System ID).

Hi All,

Can you please clarify the Node concept in Mainframes,as i have also came accross the Node concept here generally they used more then one node during the production run,and based on the load on perticular Node jobs will routed to next Node for executions.

As per my understanding Node is nothing but "LPAR --Logical partition in Mainframe.

Hello,

A node is just a name.

What other info are you looking for?

Generally, each LPAR has one JES running so a NODE would seem to be the same as an LPAR.

If two LPARs don't communicate with each other, they could both have the same NODE name.

Also, an LPAR could have more than one active JES, each with a unique NODE name, so the LPAR would have two NODEs.

NODE and LPAR names are just labels to identify the system parts.
