Low values is binary zeros. High values depends on whether the machine is ASCII or EBCDIC in ASCII it is hex 7F's. In EDCDIC it is hex FF's.

Hi,

Just to add to the above post, low value means lowest possible value in collating sequence and high value is highest possible value in the collating sequence.
