I WISH TO CREATE AN AIX ON ESDS...... THEN PLZ TELL ME HOW I CAN CREATE AIX ON ESDS.......

Hi,

I think its not possible to creat an alternet index on ESDS files.

Experts , correct me if I am wrong or incomplete.

you can create a aix for esds,it has same syntax and parameters as ksds.but ,it is not supported in batch cobol.it can be used under cics environment

it can be done
if file is fixed block
length is =5+length of alternate key+n*4 bytes(rba)
else if file is variable block
avg length is =5+length of alternate key+n*4 bytes(rba)
n is avg occurence of duplicates in alternate key
max length is =5+length of alternate key+n*4 bytes(rba)
n is maximum occurence of duplicates in alternate key
