Hello,

I need some help on sort. My requirement is :

I want to sort a sequential file and while sorting replace a particular character at a specific position with another character.

Or alternately replace a particular string which always occurs at a specific position by another string.

I need to do this through JCL sorting only.

Please give more details. It's unclear if you want to put 'x' in position n in every record, or put 'x' in position n only in records that have 'y' in position n.

Please show a concrete example of your input records and what you want the output records to look like. State the relevent position, length and strings.
