Right utility for the right purpose....

Dear all,

I have been asking this question to many people but no one is giving a satisfiable answer.. So i thought this is the best place to putforth my question.

I know we can copy files using many tools.. Some of the tools which i know are IDCAMS, SORT(SYNCSORT, DFSORT, ICETOOL), PTSEQCPY & IEBCOPY.

Could you please tell me how to select the right utility to be used for the right purpose?

Or even the link to the previous topics that contains the information?

The right utility is the one that gets the job done. There isn't really any absolute best tool for a given purpose; there merely are tools that do better or worse than others. And the definition of "better or worse" can vary depending on what is measured. Experience, familiarity with the tool, and the task to be done all impact which tool is selected in a particular case.
