Hi..

Could anyone please tell me how to check the dataset entered in the panel field is VB, FB or a PDS in the PROC section of the panel defination.

I haven't located anything that would indicate that this is possible within the panel.

Thanks for the reply Kevin..

I guess it is possible..because in SuperCE (3.13) if you give a PDS name for comparison instead of a normal dataset it is giving the message "DS organization mismatch".
So there might be some way for checking this..

Anyway let me believe, there is somebody else who can help me..

I searched in
Code:
SYS1.SISPPENU(ISRSEPRI)

and, for what I saw, there's only one control and it is passed to
Code:
DSNAMEPQ


I found this function in some website but the best are these two:

For what I've understood in this pages I only found that DSNAMEPQ allow you to check the syntax
of the dsname, both for close parenthesis and last quote.
But this does not answer to the message in 3.13.
I suppose that this messages is given from the main program and not from the PROC section of the panel.

I will look for this but I'm almost sure in this guess.

I hope in this suggest.

Of course, there's always the *REXX panel tag that can be used within a
)PROC section, providing you are at the supported level of z/OS and ISPF:
