Hi ,

Can any one help me how to find out the Key defined for the Given VSAM file.

Supose i am given a VSAM file I have to find out the Key Position
Iam not given any other information.how is it Possible to find out how the VSAM file is defined .

i m not clear that the answer is right or wrong.. can u plz try using the inforamation command? i in the line prompt and check it out.. let me know.

TRY TO USE FILEAID 3.5 UTILITY ,I THINK U CAN GET IT.......

Hi,
To get the key field starting position and it's length
use IDCAMS utility with LISTCAT command.
