U0688 abend in IMS/DB2

Hello Friends,

When I am trying to run the jcl which involves IMS & DB2 the job is abending with U0688 abend.

The reason for error is as follows.
Explanation: The operator entered "CANCEL" or "C" in response to message
DFS690A.

System Action: The region that issued this abend is terminated.

Please let me know how to resolve the abend.

Hi,

I have checked syslogs and it is saying "CTL PGM not active, reply 'wait',
'cancel' or 'alt-id' IMS1 " and it is cancelled by operator.

You cannot solve it;

When You submit jobs make sure that all the resources needed are available

....

what kind of response did you expect for an operator cancel ??

Hi, sunnybunny,

I'm sure that it is your JCL problem, but not resource problems.
Maybe you can post your JCL here and then hope i can solve it for you, i have met many connection problems like yours ( With BOTH IMS & DB2 access in the same JCL step).
