How and Where is Buffer allocated for an IMS-COBOL program.
While am trying to run COBOL-IMS program, its getting abended with DLI Status Code 'FR' which is equivalent to 'TOTAL BUFFER LIMIT EXCEEDED'. is it possible to release buffer after the execution of IMS program. if yes please explain.

i hope you are running IMS-COBOL under DFSRRC00 in JCL.

check the DD name DFSVSAMP. This has the buffer limit.
