Hi,
Can we use field names in FILEAID batch JCL in COPY function instead of giving the start position and length?
I have a very huge file and its copybook layout with hundreds of fields. I frequently need to run an extract on this file to give specific values to specific fields and then extract specific fields based on the business users needs. I have done this in foreground but need to see if we can do the same function in a batch JCL where I can provide the copybook library and the layout name and extract the details by using the field names.
Any help is greatly appreciated! |

I am not sure of FILEAID but guess you can not create a report with more than 132 bytes but certainly you can do with SORT but you will have to play with offsets or SAS. |

Have you read the manual to see what is possible with batch File Aid? |
